Strife is a peer-reviewed academic publication created and managed by researchers and scholars at the Department of War Studies, King’s College London. Strife is a dual-format outlet consisting of an academic blog and periodical journal. Strife is led by doctoral and graduate students, with contributors from around the world with a wide range of backgrounds, including researchers, staff and faculty at King’s and leading experts and scholars.
Since its founding in 2012, Strife has shared thought-provoking and unique perspectives on conflict to a global audience made of scholars, practitioners and students. Strife’s thematic focus is conflict. Rather than attempting to define conflict itself, Strife seeks to examine ‘conflict’ in all shapes, forms and meanings. Our contributors combine political, historical, literary and philosophical approaches to conflict for our readers.
The Strife Journal is published online and comprises scholarly articles, series and book reviews of recent academic titles in conflict studies and related fields. It is published biannually and reviewed by the Strife Editorial team. Our homonymous publication, Strife Blog, publishes shorter-format articles throughout the year.
